Who makes gothenburgtram.com, how we work, and where every figure here comes from.
An independent guide to the Gothenburg tram
We are a small group: some of us know Gothenburg and ride the tram, others build websites and tools. gothenburgtram.com puts the practical things in one place — a page for each of the twelve lines and each stop, the network map, the timetable, fares, a route planner and guides to the places the tram reaches. It is free, needs no sign-up, and runs in Swedish and English.
We are not Västtrafik or Göteborgs Spårvägar. We sell no tickets and cannot help with fines, refunds or lost property.
Where the data comes from
Västtrafik's published tariff
Every price comes from Västtrafik's own ticket pages, with the month we checked it — and, where a price changed, the date it changed. Gothenburg fares moved twice in five weeks in 2026, which is exactly why the date matters more than the number.
Västtrafik's own announcements
The July halving of 30-day tickets and the Gothenburg residents' subsidy come from Västtrafik's press material, not from other guides.
If we cannot verify it, we say so
Västtrafik does not publish a stop-by-stop table of first and last departures, so the times on this site are network-level and labelled as approximate. For a specific departure the To Go app is the only reliable answer.
Why nothing here says «live»
Västtrafik has an open API, but it needs a key we have not yet obtained, and the regional GTFS feed sits behind the same kind of registration. Until that is in place, nothing on this site is labelled real time — the displays at the stop and the To Go app are where live departures actually live.
What we fixed on our own pages
The 30-day ticket price was wrong, and wrong in an expensive way
We showed 890 kr and described 445 kr as a discount for registered Gothenburg residents. Since 1 July 2026 the state-funded halving means everyone pays 445, and residents pay 305. A visitor staying a month was being told to expect twice the real price.
Two blocks repeated word for word on 264 pages
«Connecting transport» and «Services at the stop» said exactly the same thing at every stop in the network. They are gone, replaced by one line pointing to the pages where that information belongs.
The stop FAQ was the same five answers with the name swapped
Fares, accessibility and bicycles are network-wide rules; repeating them 264 times helped nobody. The FAQ now answers what actually differs at each stop — which lines call there and what is next to it — and links out for the rest.
Corrections
We make mistakes, and fares change. Write to [email protected] with a link to the page — we check it against Västtrafik and fix it. The date we last checked stays on the page.
How the site is funded
The site is free. Hosting and development are paid for by advertising. Advertising does not influence the content: we receive nothing from Västtrafik or the city, sell no tickets, place no paid links in the text and do not sell reader data.

No. gothenburgtram.com is an independent information site, with no connection to Västtrafik or Göteborgs Spårvägar.
A zone A single is 38 kr (29 kr youth). A 30-day ticket is 445 kr — half price since 1 July 2026 — or 305 kr if you are registered as living in Gothenburg.
Because Västtrafik’s API needs a key we do not have yet. We would rather say that than show a countdown we cannot stand behind.
Checked in August 2026 against Västtrafik, and each change carries the date it took effect.
