Tram to Liseberg
The largest amusement park in the Nordics sits right in the middle of the tram network. Here are the stops, the lines and the best tips for the trip.
The nearest stops
Liseberg has no car park worth mentioning — the tram is by far the easiest way to get there. The park is surrounded by three stops: Korsvägen by the main entrance, Liseberg Station on the eastern side and Liseberg Södra by the southern gate and the Oceana water park.
From central Gothenburg the trip takes less than ten minutes, and a regular zone A ticket covers the whole journey.
How to get there
Seasons & events
April – October
High season with full service. On evenings after closing, trams towards the centre can fill up — walk to Korsvägen rather than Liseberg Station, as more lines stop there.
October – November
Dark evenings and big crowds. Line 5 is often reinforced — and the To Go app shows crowding levels in real time.
November – December
The Christmas market draws hundreds of thousands of visitors. The tram is effectively the only sensible way there — weekend afternoons have the densest service.
Vintage trams
In summer, the Ringlinien tramway society runs vintage trams from Drottningtorget via Valand to Liseberg — a time-travel ride in wooden cars from the early 1900s.
Tips for the Liseberg trip
Good to know
- Buy your ticket in advance in the To Go app — you skip the card-reader queue when everyone boards the same tram.
- Korsvägen is served by the most lines (4, 5, 6, 8, 12) and is your best bet for late journeys home.
- Västlänken: the underground Korsvägen rail station makes combining train and tram even easier.
- Pram or stroller? All modern trams are low-floor — board in the middle of the tram.
- A day ticket pays off if you make several trips the same day.
Frequently asked questions
Liseberg Station (line 5) and Korsvägen (lines 4, 5, 6, 8 and 12) are both a couple of minutes’ walk from the main entrance. For the south entrance and Oceana, get off at Liseberg Södra (lines 4 and 12).
Take line 4 or 12 from Drottningtorget (by the Central Station) heading south — you reach Korsvägen in about 6 minutes. Both lines continue to Liseberg Södra.
A regular zone A single: 38 kr for adults, 29 kr for youth. The ticket is valid 90 minutes, so you can change lines on the way at no extra cost.
A vintage tram service run by the Ringlinien tramway society in summer between Drottningtorget and Liseberg, using restored museum cars. Since December 2025 it runs without a line number — it used to be signed as line 12.
