About the line

Line 1 runs between Östra Sjukhuset and Opaltorget, serving 28 stops. Line 1 is one of the network’s classic trunk lines, connecting Tynnered in the south-west with Östra sjukhuset (the Eastern Hospital) in the east — via Frölunda Torg, Linnéplatsen, Järntorget, Stenpiren and Brunnsparken. The line has been rolling through the city since the electric network opened in 1902. At the big hubs — Brunnsparken, the Central Station, Korsvägen and Järntorget — you can change to other lines on the same platform.

Did you know…

Line 1 traces its roots to the Ringlinien circle line of 1902 — one of the very first electric tram routes in Gothenburg. Since 2015 it has served the modern Stenpiren stop, where tram, bus and the river ferry meet in a single travel centre.
